The women work in these factories and design all the patterns. Then they hand paint every single piece. They initial the piece, and the pattern is identified as exclusively theirs. Some of the pieces are so lovely. Polish Pottery is very expensive in the States, and the main color used is, blue. (As you can see.) The factories are hot, cramped, and filled with dust. Very difficult conditions to work in. The makers of the pottery see very little of the profits from the pottery.
